3-DIMENSIONAL INFORMATION MODELLING

Working with software such as Autocad 3D and the latest BIM software, Greene is able to generate detailed, intelligent 3D models of structures and sites to convey designs and details.

Building Information Modelling (BIM) generates and manages digital models of a place’s physical and functional characteristics. Building Information Models can be exchanged or networked to support decision-making. Current BIM software is used to plan, design, construct, operate and maintain diverse physical infrastructures, including water, waste water, roads, bridges and ports, houses, apartments, schools, shops, offices, factories, warehouses and prisons.

In processing plants, these information models are used to help all the stakeholders understand the spatial challenges of positioning equipment according to the structural layouts.

INVESTIGATIONS, REVIEWS & ASSESSMENTS

  • Third-party design reviews:

The structural design team is able to provide third-party design reviews of all types of structures to clients. Greene delivers a full-scale review report that argues all the aspects of the original design. We evaluate all probabilities and risks associated with the original design, and draw a conclusion on its validity.

  • Factory food-safety assessments:

We audit food factory infrastructure in terms of food safety. The factories are assessed to determine whether the infrastructure requires emergency repairs, general repairs, preventative maintenance or upgrades to ensure that the infrastructure is safe for the manufacture of food products.

  • Forensic investigations:

We inspect buildings where damage and/or failure has occurred. We produce reports that describe the nature of the problem, the cause, and options for remedial action (including estimated budget costs for implementation).

  • Dispute resolution:

We draw upon our broad range of construction and contract administration experience to provide dispute-resolution services, including mediation and expert reports for litigation. This work is supported by forensic engineering services to identify the cause of failures.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Until 1900, civil engineering projects were generally managed by creative architects, engineers and master builders themselves. The 1950s marked the beginning of the modern project management era, where core engineering fields come together to work as one.

Greene has been using the PMBOK guide as an application of knowledge, skills and techniques to execute projects effectively and efficiently, enabling us to tie project results to business goals for all types of infrastructure projects in the public and private sector.

Our project management team has successfully managed multi-disciplinary engineering projects, such as:

  • Industrial development projects
  • Repair and maintenance programmes
  • Infrastructure projects
  • Municipal service-delivery projects
  • Labour-intensive construction programmes
  • Internationally recognised training programs on infrastructure planning and partnerships for local economic development
